Pakistan Cricket has often come under scrutiny, with many players being accused of match-fixing as well. In the past, players like Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif, and Salman Butt have faced bans following they were found guilty of spot-fixing. In the upcoming Pakistan Champions Cup, which is a domestic one-day tournament, Shoaib Malik has been appointed as the mentor of the Stallions’ side. And, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali slammed Malik, stating that someone who has been accused of fixing should not be a mentor.

Basit Ali also claimed that Shoaib Malik has lost a game for Pakistan on purpose, and he can give proof for that as well. He also stated in an interview that Ramiz Raja took on Shoaib Malik as well.

“The one who doesn’t think about the country, should not be appointed. The one who has admitted that he has deliberately lost a match, should not be the mentor. If you want evidence I will give it. Ramiz Raja Saheb interviewed Shoaib Malik. What did he say?” Basit Ali said in a video which has been going viral all over social media.

However, recently, Basit Ali came in the limelight by commenting on India’s travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan were chosen as the host for the mega tournament, but there is no update on India’s travel to Pakistan due to the political tensions between both countries as well.

“Now, the entire decision lies on the shoulders of PM Narendra Modi. If he agrees then India may travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Otherwise, the ball will be in ICC’s court and then Jay Shah will have a tough time in taking a call,” Basit Ali had said on his YouTube channel.
