Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced a heartfelt gesture in memory of the tragic stampede victims from June 4, 2025. The IPL 2025 champions revealed via X and Instagram that they will extend ₹25 lakh each in financial aid to the families of the 11 fans who lost their lives during the celebrations outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The incident occurred during RCB’s long-awaited title celebration, marking their first-ever IPL trophy after an 18-year wait. Eleven passionate fans tragically lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries in the unfortunate stampede. In a touching statement, RCB called the victims “part of our RCB family,” pledging compassion and continued support.

“No amount of support can fill the space they’ve left behind,” RCB said in their post. “This is a first step, a promise of unity and ongoing care.” The franchise also introduced RCB CARES, a new initiative focused on long-term action to honor their memory and support their loved ones.

The tragedy overshadowed what was otherwise a historic moment for the Bengaluru-based franchise. In the IPL 2025 final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, RCB edged past Punjab Kings by six runs to lift their maiden title. Batting first, they posted 190/9, with Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh claiming three wickets each for PBKS.

Punjab’s chase fell short despite a spirited 61 off 30* by Shashank Singh, as Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s crucial breakthroughs sealed the win. RCB’s gesture has drawn praise from fans and cricket pundits alike, as the team balances celebration with compassion. With RCB CARES, the franchise aims to create a legacy beyond cricket, ensuring the spirit of those lost fans continues to inspire Bengaluru’s passionate cricket community.
