The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the 17-member One-Day International squad, who will tour South Africa to play six-match ODI series. Kedar Jadhav and Shardul Thakur are back in the squad while MSK Prasad led national selection committee kept Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at bay.

Jadhav didn’t participate in three ODIs versus Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury, while Shardul Thakur was axed from the squad during New Zealand series.

Selectors named 17 players in the squad, which is dominating by 10 batsmen including MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya. Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Umesh Yadav have been excluded from the squad. They were not in the squad for Sri Lanka series as well.

Neither Suresh Raina nor Yuvraj Singh managed to break into the squad despite clearing Yo-Yo test this week. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is making a way back into the squad after sitting out in SL series due to his marriage.

Shreyas Iyer retained his spot following back to back half-centuries in Mohali and Vishakhapatnam.

First of the six ODIs will be played on February 1 at Durban.
