The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the central contracts for the India Women’s Cricket Team for 2024-25 on Monday, February 24. However, a total of 16 players have received central contracts this time as well.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, and ace all-rounder Deepti Sharma have retained their places in Grade A. Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Shafali Verma have been added in Grade B. Left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad, however, missed her spot.
Grade C includes Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chetry, Sneh Rana, and Pooja Vastrakar. Among them, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, and Uma Chetry are new entrants as well.

The players who lost their contracts this year include Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, Sabbineni Meghana, Anjali Sarvani, and Harleen Deol as well. Harleen recently smashed her maiden ODI century against the West Indies at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, followed by an 89-run knock against Ireland in Rajkot as well.

The India women’s cricket team will take part in a tri-nation series in Sri Lanka as part of their preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup at home. The series, which will also include South Africa, is scheduled to take place between April and May as well. All the matches in the tournament will take place at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
