On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) went on to announce that CRED as an official partner for the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). CRED is a Bangalore based credit card bill payment platform. Last week, the Indian board had also announced Unacademy as the other official partner. In a press release regarding the same, the IPL chairman, Brijesh Patel said, “We are pleased to have Unacademy on board as the ‘Official Partner’ of the Indian Premier League 2020 to 2022.”
Announcing the same on Twiter, BCCI wrote, “BCCI announces CRED as Official Partner for IPL #Dream11IPL.”

The 13th edition of the IPL is scheduled to be played between September 19 and November 10. The tournament will be played for 53 days across three venues in the UAE — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. This time, both the afternoon and evening matches will be played half-an-hour earlier than usual.

Informing about the same in a press release, BCCI had stated, “IPL 2020 will be played from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10, 2020. The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST.”
Earlier this month, the BCCI had earlier announced the association with a fantasy gaming platform Dream11 for IPL 2020 as the title sponsor, replacing Chinese mobile phone company Vivo. Dream11 had pipped educational technology companies Unacademy and BYJUs to win the rights for a period of four months and 13 days with a bid of ₹222 crores.

The IPL 2020 was originally scheduled to be commencing from March 29, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
