On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 playoffs and the finale. The matches will be played between November 5 and November 10 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Qualifier 1 will be taking place in Dubai on November 5 and it will be followed by the Eliminator on November 6 and Qualifier 2 on November 8 in Abu Dhabi.
The final of the IPL 2020 will be taking place on 10th November in Dubai. Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are on the course of making it to the playoffs as they are standing at the top position on the points table followed by Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. However, there is stiff competition for the fourth playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the Women’s T20 Challenge will be played from November 4 to November 9 and it will be held in Sharjah. The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has announced Meghna Singh as Mansi Joshi’s replacement in Velocity.

“The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has announced Meghna Singh as Mansi Joshi’s replacement in Velocity,” the release said. Joshi had tested COVID-19 positive before the players assembled in Mumbai for a week’s isolation before flying out to Dubai.

The IPL, being played entirely in the UAE due to the surging cases of COVID-19 in India, is approaching the business end of the tournament.

The BCCI also announced the schedule of the Women’s T20 Challenge which will take place in Sharjah from November 4 to 9. The players landed in Dubai earlier this week and are undergoing a six-day quarantine.
