The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called off the first two games of the quadrangular List A series, participating India A, India B, Australia A and South Africa A, due to the poor ground conditions after the heavy rain.

The quadrangular List A series have been hosted by Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground (Mulapadu, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh) and Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground (Mulapadu, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh). The first two matches of the series have been scheduled to be played on Friday (August 17) – India A vs Australia A and India B vs South Africa A.

However, the heavy rain has led both the venues to poor and unplayable conditions for the next two days. It means both the matches can’t be played on the reserve day too which was the Saturday (August 18).

The rest of the fixtures will go on as per schedule as the forecast hasn’t suggested any further rain-threats.

Amitabh Choudhary, the interim secretary of BCCI, released a statement, “Due to heavy rainfall in the region, the match officials in consultation with the ground curator Mr. S Sriram reached a consensus that the ground conditions were not suitable for play for the next two days.”
