On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the final list of the players who will be going under the hammer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Player Mega-Auction. As many as 590 cricketers from around the world will be taking part in the two-day mega auction which will be taking place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13, 2022. Amongst 590 registered players who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to Associate Nations.
A fierce battle will be expected between the various franchise to acquire the services of some of the finest cricketers from around the world when the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, etc. will be going under the hammer.

The 10 IPL franchisees β Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (RCB) and Team Ahmedabad will be taking part in the mag-auction.

All the franchises will be bidding for some of the cricketing stalwarts like Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan, Wanindu Hasaranga, etc.Β
INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price and as many as 48 players have chosen to place themselves in this bracket. There are 20 players in the auction list with a reserve price of INR 1.5 crores while 34 players are in the list of cricketers with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.
