The third Test of the ongoing 4-match series between India and Australia was scheduled to be played at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5. However, BCCI has decided to shift the game to the Holkar Stadium in Indore as the outfield in Dharamsala is not match-ready. It is understood that BCCI curator Taposh Chatterjee visited the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium and inspected the pitch and the outfield.
BCCI has taken the final call on the basis of the report submitted by the curator. Their report regarding the same, read: “The third Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala from 1st to 5th March has now been moved to Holkar Stadium, Indore. Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully.”
