On Tuesday, the BCCI has finalized the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against New Zeland at home and announced that Rohit Sharma will be leading the squad and KL Rahul will be performing the role of his deputy. Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad have received maiden national call-ups for the series. Apart from teh squad for teh T20I series, BCCI also announced India ‘A’ squad for South Africa tour
For the New Zealand series veteran players like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah have been rested as they will be required for the two-match Test series following the T20Is series. Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant have been retained as the wicket-keeper batsmen for the series.
