The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is standing strong on their standing of protecting players’ interests is of paramount importance and they are in constant touch with Cricket Australia (CA) to make sure that the visiting team is having a comfortable stay in Brisbane. The Gabba will host the final Test between Australia and India from January 15.
Some of the recent reports have suggested that the facilities that were promised at the Brisbane hotel where the team is is staying and what is on offer are “diametrically opposite”. Players have not been allowed to move out of their floors despite the hotel lodging no other guests. According to a report, the Indian contingent asked to make their own beds and cleaning their own toilets while food is being supplied from a nearby Indian restaurant in Brisbane.

India Today has reported that the BCCI is constantly in touch with Cricket Australia and is monitoring the situation in Brisbane. The BCCI is conscious of the extraordinary requirements at these times but it is also concerned that players need to be made comfortable as each of them has gone through humongous physical and mental challenges in recent times.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah are constantly having conversations with CA officials and they have been assured that steps will be taken with immediate effect to make the cricketers comfortable in Brisbane. The Indian team arrived in Brisbane on Tuesday for the 4th and final Test of the series against Australia.

Crucial in the discussions between CA and BCCI are believed to be signed assurances from Queensland Health that players will be allowed to mingle within the hotel. Notably, according to the reports of India Today, BCCI had requested CA to allow their players to mingle in the hotel rooms of the team.
