The Board of Control for Cricket in India has organized a DRS workshop, attended by 12 umpires in a city hotel; one of them remarked this workshop as very useful. This workshop took place to increase awareness of Indian umpires, who give duties as fourth umpire in International matches.

ICC’s umpire coach Dennis Burns and Australian umpire Paul Riffle were the guest of this workshop and discussed about Decision Review System in details.

One of the participants quoted to PTI “It was a very useful seminar. We got a good introduction into the working of DRS and how to handle things. DRS and technology are the future. It is better to be equipped for them. We have to embrace technology.”

Meanwhile, he also revealed that DRS can be drafted into the Indian Premier League from the next year. “DRS is a new thing for Indian umpires and it is good that we got to learn about it,” he added.
