Team India was recently honoured with a special ‘Champions Ring’ at the BCCI’s prestigious Naman Awards, a fitting tribute to their triumphant ICC T20 World Cup victory last year. Each member of the squad received a uniquely crafted ring with their names engraved, symbolizing their remarkable achievement on the global stage.

A video shared by the BCCI captured the moment of celebration, showing the players being presented with their diamond-studded rings in personalized boxes. Among those featured in the clip were Rohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav, receiving their well-earned honours. The Champions Ring, designed by Dream 11, was made from pure gold and encrusted with diamonds, featuring the Ashoka Chakra at its centre—an emblem of India’s resilience and dominance.

One of the rings had “Rohit Sharma” engraved on it, as a testament to his inspirational leadership during India’s unbeaten T20 World Cup campaign. Under Rohit’s captaincy, India showcased an extraordinary run, winning all their matches en route to the final.

The tournament-defining moment came in the last over of the final against South Africa, when Suryakumar Yadav’s incredible boundary-line catch to dismiss David Miller turned the tide, securing India’s long-awaited ICC trophy after 13 years and a T20 World Cup title after 17 years.

The Naman Awards also saw Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar receiving the prestigious Col. C.K. Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor was presented by ICC Chairman Jay Shah in recognition of Tendulkar’s unparalleled contributions to Indian cricket.

Meanwhile, Team India has now shifted its focus to upcoming challenges. They are currently engaged in a three-match ODI series against England, having already taken a 1-0 lead after their victory in Nagpur.

Their next major assignment is the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where they will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. The much-anticipated clash against Pakistan follows on February 23, with their final group-stage match against New Zealand scheduled for March 2. Since India has opted not to travel to Pakistan, all their matches will be played in Dubai, adding another layer of intrigue to the tournament.
