Despite India and Sri Lanka being engaged in a bilateral series, everyone is looking forward to India-South Africa Test series in next year. Team India has also started their preparations for this tour and they are eyeing for first ever Test series win over there.

To boost India’s confidence, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned to send four pacers for the net practice to Indian bowlers. Mohammad Siraj and Basil Thampi are among those selected bowlers.

A senior BCCI official said, “The team will have four pacers to help at net sessions. They are Basil Thampi, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini.”

Meanwhile, India’s only warm-up game before the Test series has been cancelled and India will do practice sessions instead, confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday. “Please be advised that the two-day warm-up match for India at Eurolux Boland Park will no longer be taking place. India have opted for training sessions on those days,” a CSA release reads.

The first Test between both nations will commence from January 5 in Cape Town.
