BCCI Insider Reveals No Decision Takes Place Without MS Dhoni’s Permission In CSK

In the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, ahead of the match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the latter franchise went on to make a huge announcement. Ravindra Jadeja has decided to give back the captaincy reins of CSK to MS Dhoni. Just two days before IPL 2022, the Chennai Super Kings issued a press release, informing the fans that Dhoni had stepped down as the skipper of the Chennai-based franchise.

Ravindra Jadeja took over the captaincy, but under his leadership, CSK managed to win just a couple of matches in eight outings. Now, a BCCI insider has informed PTI that Dhoni is the decision-maker in the Chennai Super Kings management, and the administrators consult him before making any official announcement.

As per the quotes in PTI, the BCCI insider said, “Without MS Dhoni’s approval, nothing happens in CSK. He’s the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and last word when it comes to cricketing matters. Doesn’t matter who captains the side.”

The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League happened last year in India and the UAE. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, CSK won the trophy when they defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the summit clash. Dhoni had said in the post-match presentation of the final match that he had not left his legacy as a captain behind.

However, the wicket-keeper batter stepped down as the captain of CSK. Now that he is back as the captain of the Chennai-based franchise, fans should expect another comeback from the squad. Also, it will be interesting to see how Ravindra Jadeja performs as an all-rounder now that he is no longer the captain of the franchise.
