The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited the Nepal U19 cricket team to play a 50-over quadrangular tournament, which will be played in Kolkata in September.
Apart from India U19 and Nepal U19, two other participating teams in the upcoming quadrangular tournament are – Afghanistan U19 and National Cricket Academy (NCA) U19. The matches will be played at Eden Gardens and Jadavpur University Ground from September 12 to 18, according to an earlier CricTracker report.

According to the state news agency Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) report, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is waiting for the International Cricket Council (ICC) permission to participate in the tournament.
The manager of Nepal cricket team, Raman Shiwakoti told RSS, “It might take some days to decide over the participation in the series. Some of our U-19 players who are in the national team are just back from the Netherlands. After consulting with them we will decide.”

Just a few days earlier, Nepal national cricket team has made their ODI debut in their international cricket tour in the Netherlands. Playing two ODIs on August 1 and 3 at VRA Cricket Ground (Amstelveen), Nepal lost the first match by 55 runs but secured their first ever ODI victory in the second game by just 1 run.
Meanwhile, Nepal U19 had stunned the India U19 in the Group stage game of 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. In that Pool A fixture, India U19 lost by 19 runs. Nepal U19 reached in the semi-final of that tournament while India U19 failed to reach in that top-four round. However, India U19 won the 2018 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
