The Board of Control for Cricket in India will host its prestigious annual BCCI Naman Awards on March 15 in New Delhi, celebrating outstanding performances across international, domestic, and age-group cricket during the 2024–25 season. The ceremony has become one of Indian cricket’s most respected traditions, honouring both legendary figures and emerging talents who have shaped the game over the past year.

The biggest highlights of the evening will be the presentation of lifetime achievement honours to three iconic names in Indian cricket — Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj. Dravid and Binny will receive the prestigious Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, while Mithali Raj will be honoured with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women for her extraordinary contribution to the sport.

Few players have influenced Indian cricket as deeply as Rahul Dravid. Widely respected for his discipline and consistency, the former India captain scored more than 24,000 runs across formats during a remarkable international career. After retiring, Dravid continued to serve Indian cricket with equal dedication in coaching roles. His most notable success came when he guided India to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 title as head coach, further strengthening his legacy as one of the game’s most respected figures.

Roger Binny’s journey in Indian cricket has also been exceptional. A key member of India’s historic triumph in the 1983 Cricket World Cup, Binny finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker and played a crucial role in the team’s memorable campaign. After his playing days, he remained closely associated with the sport as a coach, selector, and administrator, eventually serving as BCCI President between 2022 and 2025.

Meanwhile, Mithali Raj’s contribution to women’s cricket is nothing short of historic. The former India captain remains the highest run-scorer in women’s One-Day Internationals, amassing 7,805 runs at an impressive average of 50.68. Over a career that spanned more than two decades, she led India to two ICC Women’s World Cup finals and played a vital role in bringing women’s cricket into the mainstream in the country.

In a special tribute, the BCCI will also felicitate all five Indian teams that have won ICC trophies across formats and age groups — a remarkable achievement that highlights the strength and depth of Indian cricket in recent years. The ceremony will also recognise outstanding performers from domestic tournaments. Players such as Shafali Verma, Harsh Dubey, and Shubman Gill feature prominently among the award winners for their exceptional performances during the season.

Smriti Mandhana emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night, securing honours for both the highest run-scorer in women’s ODIs and the Best International Cricketer (Women). On the men’s side, Shubman Gill received the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer after a stellar year with the bat.

The awards also recognised promising young talent, with Harshit Rana and N. Sree Charani winning the Best International Debut awards for men and women respectively. However, the BCCI confirmed that the Dilip Sardesai Award — given for outstanding performances in India–West Indies Test series during the designated period — will not be presented this year.
