However, Kohli’s recent string of performances, including two consecutive fifties in three matches, has undoubtedly bolstered his contention for a spot in the World Cup squad.

In an interview with IANS, a BCCI official, speaking anonymously, acknowledged Kohli’s commendable performance post a prolonged break, affirming his belief that Kohli will elevate his strike rate in the forthcoming matches. The official emphasized that selectors prioritize on-field performance over social media reactions when making team selections.

“The T20 World Cup 2024 is slated to commence from June 1 in West Indies and USA, following the culmination of the IPL 2024 season.
