Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his team has recently faced a humiliating loss in the second Test of the 5-match series against England at the iconic Lord’s as they lost the game by a huge margin of an innings and 159 runs. Moreover, they are now trailing the series 0-2 with three matches more to be played. The next Test will be played at Trent Bridge from August 18 in Nottingham and the visitors have to win it in order to keep their hopes alive.
In the meantime, it has been learned that the Kohli along with the head coach Ravi Shastri is likely to be questioned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the horrifying performance of the team on English soil. BCCI reckons tha despite giving all the facilities demanded by the team management, they underperformed and now the board has the right to question them for their poor show.

As per the reports of Times of India, one of the senior BCCI officials said, “The Indian team can’t complain that they were not given enough time to prepare. It was after speaking to them that we decided that white ball matches will be held before the Tests. It was on the senior team’s insistence that we send the India A team during the same time starting the concept of ‘Shadow Tour’. “
He further added, “Two senior India players (M Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane) were accommodated for A team games. Whatever they wanted, they were provided. Now if results don’t come, the Board is well within its rights to ask questions.”
In the first match at Edgbaston in Birmingham, the visitors gave a tough fight to the Brits, but couldn’t get over the line. The second Test turned out to be a nightmare for India as their batsmen surrendered in front of the English pacers, especially James Anderson who finished the game with the figure of 9/63
