BCCI Reveals New teams To Flight Against Coronavirus

In a bid to spread awareness about the novels coronavirus pandemic among the masses, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday revealed the ‘Team Mask Force’ comprising of Indian cricketers – from past and present. The video features the Indian skipper, Vrat Kohli and a lot of Indian stalwarts.

In the video, some infamous players like BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Smriti Mandhana, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Mithali Raj, and Sachin Tendulkar can be seen talking about the need to wear the mask and follow the directives of the government in this fight.

Captioning the video on Twitter, BCCI wrote: “#TeamIndia is now #TeamMaskForce! Join #IndiaFightsCorona and download @mygovindia‘s @SetuAarogya mobile application.”

Earlier, the BCCI contributed ₹51 crores to the Prime Ministers Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund as the government fights against the coronavirus outbreak. With all the With no cricket happening currently due to the pandemic, cricketers are making the most of their time indoors by spending time with their family and spreading awareness among the citizens by using their star-power.

Most of the major sporting events have been postponed or canceled and there is uncertainty over the T20 World Cup, which is slated to take place later this year in Australia.  Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 14600 with almost 500 people losing their lives on Thursday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The entire world is slowly moving towards a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
