Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian batsman and a famous commentator, has been dropped from the commentary panel by the BCCI. He has been a seasoned guy behind the mike in the commentary box for the Indian matches over a couple of years. Manjrekar might not be a part of the IPL 2020 commentary panel which is now rescheduled to start on April 15 instead of March 25 due to the spread of Corona Virus across the globe.

The former batsman was missing from the panel during the first ODI between India and South Africa. The ODI was washed without a ball being bowled due to constant rains. The commentary group for the match included the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, and Murali Kartik.

With no official word reasoning Majnrekar’s absence from the commentary panel, it is believed that BCCI authorities are dissatisfied and not happy with his performance.

Sanjay Manjrekar has found himself between quite a few controversies on social media last year. He was blasted by Twitterati and cricket fans when he described Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer. A few months later, he questioned the credentials of Harsha Bhogle as a commentator. He later had to apologize for both of his comments.
