Sanju Samson was the biggest omission as the BCCI announced India’s squad for the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe later this month. The board did not clarify whether the wicketkeeper-batter has been rested or dropped, with Samson among six changes made to the squad currently featuring in the five-match T20I series against England.

Alongside Samson, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi have also missed out on selection for the Zimbabwe tour.

The squad sees the return of explosive batter Rinku Singh and express pacer Mayank Yadav. Wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh has earned another opportunity, while fast bowlers Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma, along with left-arm spin all-rounder Harsh Dubey, have received call-ups.
