The Mankad incident led Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the headlines in the last Indian Premier League. Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin had incidentally run out Rajasthan Royals and England star Jos Buttler after he walked out of the crease before the ball was delivered by Ashwin. While Ashwin was dismissed Buttler, he faced a lot of criticism from everyone. Not only fans but several players especially from England had lashed out on the India spinner.

However, recently Ashwin and England batsman Ben Duckett interacted on Twitter and they exchanged a couple of tweets which were as friendly as one can think of. It all started when Ashwin took to Twitter and showed his support for the Indian football team during their match against Bangladesh. India were playing in the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh and levelled the scoring in the crucial moments of the game. Excited with the result, Ashwin tweeted, “1-1 now #indvsban #IndianFootball can we sneak one in now!!! Go boys.”

This is when Duckett decided replied cheekily and said that India could win if the spinner played for them, tweeting, “Maybe if you were upfront ash…..”

Ashwin then hilariously responded to his Nottinghamshire teammate, writing, “Hahaha.. they would take the hattrick I scored at Trent bridge happily”

Meanwhile, it was not yet decided about Ravichandran Ashwin’s future in IPL. There were reports suggesting that Kings XI Punjab were in a discussion with Delhi Capitals for the player exchange. However, the franchise has decided not to sell him. Ashwin led Kings XI Punjab in the last two editions but failed to guide them to the final as they have never won the title since the beginning.
