The flamboyant English all-rounder, Ben Stokes was surprised with Sunil Gavaskar’s commentary during the match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) which took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It happened in the 11th over of the PBKS innings after KL Rahul and his men were asked to bat first. Kagiso Rabada was the bowler while Rahul and Mayank Agarwal were batting in the middle.
Gavaskar criticized the line of the bouncers of Rabada as Rahul and Agarwal smashed the DC speedster over the ropes. Even as Agarwal sent the ball into the stands with a pull shot, Rahul pulled out the hook shot to good effect.

After the indifferent piece of commentary from Gavaskar, Stokes took a dig at the batting legend. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Commentator: ‘Such a poor bouncer if you want to bowl a bouncer it must be over Off Stump’. REPLAY: bouncer line directly over Off Stump.”

Stokes has already been ruled out of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 as he sustained a finger injury during Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) first game of the season on Monday, April 12.
Meanwhile, the Capitals registered a thrashing 6-wicket win over the Kings with 10 balls to spare. It was Shikhar Dhawan’s 92 that saw DC over the line. Rishabh Pant talked about the importance of the win and was also seen praising the left-handed Dhawan for playing the crucial knock.

Rishabh said, “Coming from a loss, winning the next match was important. Have already started enjoying captaincy. But we were under pressure at the start, the wicket was not doing much. Bowlers did a good job keeping them to 190. He (Dhawan) has a lot of experience. You can talk to him about anything, how we can set the field, there is much stuff you can talk about.”
