Australia star Beth Mooney once again proved why she is regarded as one of the greatest performers in ICC finals, producing a match-winning innings in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final against England at Lord’s. The experienced wicketkeeper-batter scored a composed 64 off 49 deliveries to guide Australia to a seven-wicket victory while rewriting the record books with another remarkable performance on the biggest stage.

Chasing 151 for the title, Mooney anchored Australia’s innings with her trademark calmness and precision. She struck 10 boundaries during her knock and shared a crucial 100-run partnership for the second wicket with Phoebe Litchfield, putting England’s bowling attack under immense pressure. Australia comfortably reached the target in just 17.1 overs to lift a record-extending Women’s T20 World Cup crown.
Mooney’s latest half-century also saw her achieve a historic milestone. The left-hander became the first cricketer, across both men’s and women’s T20 World Cups, to register three 50-plus scores in tournament finals.

In doing so, she surpassed India batting great Virat Kohli, who previously shared the record with Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara and former West Indies star Marlon Samuels, each having scored two half-centuries in Men’s T20 World Cup finals. She remained unbeaten on 78 against India in the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground before following it up with an unbeaten 74 off 53 balls against South Africa in the 2023 final at Newlands. Her latest knock of 64 against England completed an unprecedented hat-trick of fifty-plus scores in Women’s T20 World Cup finals, a feat no other player has managed.
The innings also elevated Mooney to the top of another elite list. She now holds the record for the most runs scored in T20 World Cup finals across both men’s and women’s cricket. With 230 runs in four innings across five Women’s T20 World Cup finals, she moved well clear of former Australia captain Meg Lanning and West Indies match-winner Marlon Samuels on the all-time charts.
