Bharat Arun Admits Ravi Shastri Brought Fearlessness In Team India

Former Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun has said that there we no agendas during Ravi Shastri’s tenure as the head coach and the decisions came only while thinking about the team. Bharat Arun also said that Ravi Shastri brought fearlessness and honesty in the team.

Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended at the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE. Bharat Arun was the bowling coach of India and the world witnessed a massive shift in the condition of the Indian bowling prowess.

India formed a world-class bowling lineup in all three formats, especially in the Test cricket. The bowlers started picking up 20 wickets in a Test to help India register wins overseas.

“Fearlessness and honesty. During his tenure, there was absolutely no agenda. The decisions might have been right or wrong, that is irrelevant, but they came from the right place, purely thinking about team values and what we stood for as a team,” said Bharat Arun to Indian Express.

The former bowling coach of India then spoke about how they evolved as a team.

“Honesty encompasses criticism, self-introspection. It was in telling the team that ‘accept that we messed up’. It helped us evolve the team.” he added.

Team India became a force to reckon with in the recent years. The batting prodigy of any Indian cricket was never in doubt but the bowling department also saw a resurgence. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma were bowling exceptionally well in the overseas conditions while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav were the second fiddles in the pace battery.
