After facing a demoralizing loss in the first T20I of the three-match series in Wellington, Team India enter the Eden Park in Auckland with the determination to make a comeback. After winning the toss, the Kiwi skipper, Kane Williamson decided to bat first and surprisingly, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also wanted to chase. Another surprising thing happened as both the skippers decided not to make any changes in the squad. It was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who drew the first blood for India.

Bhuvneshwar got the priced wicket of Tim Seifert in the fourth over of the game as he was the highest scorer for New Zealand as he had amassed 84 runs in just 43 balls. His dismissal can be termed as an act of revenge from Bhuvi as Siefert had smashed a four and a six in the first two balls of the over before being dismissed.

On the first ball of the over, Seifert smashed the first boundary of the over as he skipped outside the crease and had gone through with the pull even though he’s cramped for room. He timed the ball beautifully to beat deep square leg fielder. On the very next ball, he stayed inside the crease and picked the length of the ball early only to muscle the short ball over long-on for a six. The cameraman there was in the firing line for a while until he saw the ball curl away just a bit with the breeze.

Bhuvneshwar was under pressure but he handled it very well as he got he priced wicket on the third ball of the over. Seifert premeditated the pull, Bhuvi cleverly bowls this closer to the stumps to deny him any room to the batsman, only manages to get a thin inside edge and MS Dhoni does the rest.
