Bhuvneshwar Kumar Feels Day-night Test in Australia Will Be Difficult

The Indian pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar reckons that playing a pink-ball Test against Australia could be “challenging”, as the Australian team under the captaincy of Tim Paine has played more day-night matches in their backyard. The two teams are scheduled to lock horns with each other in a four-match Test series this year, beginning from December 4 in Brisbane wherein the second Test is expected to be played with the pink ball.

In an interaction with ANI, the 30-year-old bowler said, “Everyone is excited for the series between India and Australia as after a long time, there would be a game to watch and also, we would be playing against one of the toughest opponents out there. It is going to be fun to play with the pink ball in Adelaide.”

Because of the ongoing pandemic, the reports suest that players will have to undergo quarantine after landing in Australia as a precautionary measure. However, Bhuvneshwar believes that it might be a blessing disguise as it will give time to the Indian team to get acclimatize to the Australian conditions.

Pacers like Bhuvneshwar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav have emerged as a forced to reckon with in the longest format. Over the past two-three years, they have become a bunch of one of the most lethal fast bowlers he pacers have taken a bulk of wickets and are often the ones on whom skipper relies for a breakthrough at crucial junctures.

When asked whether the Indian bowling attack is the best in the world, the 30-year-old said, “I do not know whether it is the best or not but it is very good for sure because of every individual’s ability. You need the support of the captain through everything and Virat has always been helpful to each of us.”
