Punjab Kings (PBKS) spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi shared that veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal doesn’t need any reminder of what he is capable of. Chahal took only two wickets in his first five matches in the IPL 2025 and looked out of form soon after as well. However, Chahal returned to form with a four-wicket haul against the KKR when PBKS defended 111 in Mullanpur. Joshi also said that, being the all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL history, Chahal knew how to get back to form as well.

“I think Yuzi is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. Big match players don’t need to be reminded of what they are capable of. They can always make a difference. It’s just the confidence and bowling in the right areas that help them perform strongly,” Joshi said in the pre-match press conference.

In eight matches in IPL 2025, Yuzvendra Chahal has taken nine wickets at an economy rate of 9.30 as well. Joshi also lauded Shreyas Iyer for doing well and putting in his decent performances across formats as well.

“If you look back at Shreyas’ contribution in the last 8-10 months, from the Champions Trophy onwards, playing not only against fast bowling but also against spin has become more consistent. He has shown hunger and is ready to accept every challenge he comes across,” Sunil Joshi concluded.
