Russell picked up two wickets in an over.

Russell, who turned 30 today, was introduced into the attack in the 10th over. In just the previous over, Bangalore’s 67-run opening partnership was broken by Kuldeep Yadav. On the penultimate delivery of his first over, Russell forced Brendon McCullum (38) to play a hook shot.

Unsuccessful at his attempt, McCullum ended up edging the ball behind the wickets to Karthik. He ended up scoring 38 (28) with the help of four fours and two sixes. Manan Vohra replaced McCullum in the middle. On the final ball of the over, Vohra inside edged a full toss from Russell straight to his foot and then the stumps, becoming Russell’s second victim.
