The IPL betting link is going deeper with the Bollywood now. After Arbaaz Khan, now it is reported that Indian filmmaker Sajid Khan was also involved in the betting and he might be soon summoned for that.
After the bookie, Sonu Jalan’s arrest, some Bollywood involvements in the IPL betting have been revealed. Recently, Sonu revealed the name of Arbaaz Khan, brother of Bollywood star Salman Khan, in the involvement of IPL betting.
Later, Arbaaz Khan confessed that he placed bets during IPL and suffered lost around INR 2.8 crores during IPL 2017. He told the media, “My statement has been recorded. Police asked whatever they needed in this investigation and I answered them. I will continue to cooperate with them.”
After that, two more Bollywood producers Parag Sanghvi and Murad Khaitan have been interrogated after knowing their involvements in the IPL betting.
Now, Jalan claimed that Sajid Khan placed bets in 2008 during a cricket tournament. He further added that Sajid continued to follow the games while Jalan was not involved any more.
47-year-old Sajid Khan is an Indian filmmaker, scriptwriter, talk show host, presenter and actor. He is the younger brother of Farah Khan, the famous Bollywood film director, film producer, dancer, choreographer, and actress. Incidentally, Farah Khan had featured in the “Dil jumping zapaak” videos during IPL 2013.
Sajid Khan has directed some hit Bollywood movies like Heyy Baby, Housefull, Housefull 2 etc.
However, the senior inspector of Thane crime branch, Pradeep Sharma, told the reporters that Sajid’s case was not connected with the recent betting case.
Talking about Sajid’s betting place in 2008, Sharma said, “More specifically, on a session where one can win by guessing the total number of runs scored in five overs of a match or before lunch or tea break.”
