Brad Hodge Responds A User On Twitter On The Difference Between International Cricket and IPL

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been taking place amidst the COVID-19 scare in India where more than 300000 cases have been reported daily basis, and the country is going through a tough situation right now. Amid this time, a few Australian players have pulled out too. However, earlier, England and Australian teams had postponed their series against South Africa but, they have featured in the IPL which created a lot of buzzes recently.

It is also noteworthy that, a number of players, which also included the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Kane Richardson, and Adam Zampa have already pulled out of the tournament midway but the overseas players couldn’t reach home as Australia have banned all the passenger flight from India as of now.

A user named Ian Higgins has shared his views on this on Twitter on 27th April 2021. Higgins tweeted: “Remember when Australia and England binned their tours of South Africa because of COVID concerns? 330,000 cases in India today. Looking forward to Delhi v Bangalore in the IPL tonight!!”

However, former Australia player Brad Hodge has seen the tweet and responds to Ian Higgins as well. Hodge replied to his tweet by saying that Cash is the king. Higgins tweeted: “Cash is king.”

Brad Hodge has played as many as 66 matches in the IPL. The veteran has featured in the IPL from 2008 to 2014 and scored 1400 runs as well. He had a great season in the 2009 edition of the IPL, where he scored 365 runs at an average of 40.56. He also scored 3 half-centuries during the 2nd edition of the cash-rich league.

As far as the current edition of the IPL is concerned, it has started on 9th April 2021 and is now into its 3rd week as well. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is currently placed at the top of the points table after registering 5 wins from 6 matches. The final of the 14th edition of the IPL will take place on 30th May 2021.
