Former Australian cricketer Brad Hodge has revealed that players are yet to receive 35 percent of their fees from BCCI when they turned out for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the IPL 2011. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is already receiving criticism from every corner after it came to light that the board hadn’t given the prize money of $50000 to women’s cricketers after they reach the finals of T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.

BCCI also received backlash after they released the central contract for women cricketers a few days ago. The highest pay category for a women cricketer in India is INR 50 lakhs while the lowest pay category for men cricketers in India is INR 1 crore. This huge gap between payments by BCCI brought a lot of attention from the fans.

Now, another revelation by Brad Hodge hasn’t done any favour for the board. He played for the now-defunct franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the IPL 2011. The franchise had several star players in form of Brendon McCullum, Brad Hodge, S Sreesanth, Ravindra Jadeja, RP Singh, Michael Klinger, Muttiah Muralitharan, VVS Laxman, Thisara Perera, Parthiv Patel, and many others while Mahela Jayawardene was captain of the team.

The franchise participated in a single season of the IPL in 2011 and finished the season in the 8^th position in the points table.

On Twitter, Hodge revealed that how he and other players are yet to receive their salary even after 10 years. He sarcastically asked the BCCI if they can locate the money. Responding to Telegraph Cricket’s tweet, Hodge wrote, “Players are still owed 35% of their money earned from ten years ago from the IPL representing Kochi tuskers. Any chance BCCI could locate that money?”
