Former Australian batsman Brad Hodge will be seen coaching Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League, announced on Wednesday. He will report to Virender Sehwag, who is now Director of Cricket of the same franchise.

Hodge is featuring in the IPL since very long. He was playing for Rajasthan Royals until they received a ban in 2015. Thus, he shifted both his role and franchise, as he moved to Gujarat Lions to coach them in next two seasons. In their inaugural edition, Gujarat reached to the playoffs but failed horribly in the next season.

Meanwhile, Hodge will hold the burden to give KXIP it’s maiden IPL title as they are among three original IPL franchises, who haven’t won a single edition. Although, they reached in the final once in 2014 under Sanjay Bangar’s vision but failed to take that success forward in next seasons.

On the other hand, Punjab deducted supporting staff R Sridhar and Patrick Farhart while keeping conflict of interest in mind.
