Brad Hogg Vouches For Virat Kohli To Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Records

Former Australia chinaman, Brad Hogg reckons that the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli can be expected to break the batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket. Hogg went on to express that as the fitness levels are increased in today’s day and age and the players are getting to play a lot of cricket hence the chances of breaking records have been increased.

In a video posted on his official YouTube channel, Hogg said, “Of course he can. Fitness levels today are a lot better when Sachin Tendulkar started. They get a lot of help with quality fitness trainers. They have also got a lot of physios and doctors on board. Any niggle that is starting to happen people can get on top of it straight away.”

He further added, “Therefore players miss fewer games and of course there is a lot more cricket being played these days. So yes, he can break that record.”

The comparisons between Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar have been on a rise and many have picked the fiery India captain to have the capability to break the records set by Tendulkar.

Tendulkar decided to call time on his illustrious career after registering 100 international centuries, while Virat has already amassed as many as 70 centuries across all formats. At present, the latter is standing at the numero uno position in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings while he is holding the second position in Tests rankings.

In his career, Kohli has played 86 Test matches in which he has amassed 7,240 runs with the help of 27 centuries at an average of 53.62. His knock of 254 against South Africa in 2019 during the Pune Test became has been his highest score in the longest format. When it comes to ODIs, Kohli has played 248 games and scored 43 centuries.
