Former Australian pacer Brett Lee has supported Sachin Tendulkar on his recent post for the reverse-swing in ODI cricket. However, Lee also believes that the two balls can assist the bowlers in ODI cricket.

Talking about the present days’ ODI cricket, Lee stated that the bowlers need wickets which they can’t get on the flat tracks. Lee believes 250-280 should be a good looking total in ODI cricket.

The 41-year-old told IANS, “What the bowlers need are the wickets. They have to get wickets that (are) not totally flat (batting tracks) where someone scores 400 or someone gets a 450 score… I still think that a 250-280 score, max, is a good total.”

Recently, Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar tweeted for reverse-swing in ODI cricket, “Having 2 new balls in one day cricket is a perfect recipe for disaster as each ball is not given the time to get old enough to reverse. We haven’t seen reverse swing, an integral part of the death overs, for a long time.”

Lee has supported that fact by mentioning the reverse-swing as a “very important tool” for the bowlers and stated, “it doesn’t get old enough for reverse swing” at talking about the using two balls in ODI cricket.

However, Lee also feels that the two balls can assist the bowlers in ODI cricket too. He said, “I don’t think there’s an issue if they use one ball in 50 overs or two balls. Having two new balls in one day cricket can assist the bowlers.”

Lee further added that the ODI pitches should need to be more bowlers’ friendly by covering enough grass on the pitches.

By mentioning it as his easiest formula, Lee stated, “That for me is the easiest way to do it… I’m not saying have an actual green top, but just have something for the bowlers to work with.”
