Legends League Cricket 2022 is a 10-day extravaganza were some of the stalwarts of the game who have retired now regrouped to turn back the clock with their blistering performances. The sixth match of the tournament was played between India Maharajas and World Giants had every bit of flavor to keep the fans at the edge of the seats. However, Brett Lee unleashed his vintage version of himself as he pulled off a barrage of bowling tricks to help the team win a thrilling game.

Earlier, World Giants batted first and managed to post a huge score of 228 for the loss of 5 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Former Proteas’ superstar Herschelle Gibbs was the highest run-getter as he amassed 89 runs off 46 balls including 7 fours and as many sixes. Gibbs struck the balls with brute force at a staggering strike rate of 193.48.

On the other hand, Munaf Patel scalped a couple of wickets for India Maharajas. World Giants did all the damage already with the bat. In reply, India Maharajas did give some tough time to World Giants as they stood tall against the bowlers. Naman Ojha who didn’t bat well in the previous games switched gears and hammered the balls out of the park.

Naman Ojha showcased his relentless batting skills as he came out all guns blazing and hammered 95 off 51 balls with the help of 8 fours and 7 hits over the fence at a strike rate of 186.27. However, after his dismissal, Irfan Pathan switched gears in the need of the hour.

The southpaw ended up scoring 56 off 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and 6 sixes as he scored at a strike rate of 266.67. When Irfan Pathan was at the crease, especially at the last over, India Maharajas were poised to win the game. However, Brett Lee produced a bowling masterclass in the final over and got the job done.

India Maharajas were 221/5 in 19 overs. They required 8 runs in the final over and were the favorites to win. However, vintage Brett Lee bowled superbly well and did the trick. The former Australian bowler dismissed the dangerous Irfan Pathan in the first ball of the last over and then the game tilted in favor of the World Giants as they won the game by 5 runs.
