Brian Lara Applauds The Leadership Of Virat Kohli

The cricket fans were delighted when it was announced that the legends and ex-cricketers like Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Zaheer Khan, Brett Lee, Tillekeratne Dilshan, and many others will be back on the field next year in a Road Safety World series which will be a T20 tournament aimed at promoting road safety.

The tournament will be featuring six teams- India Legends, South Africa Legends, West Indies Legends, Australia Legends, and Sri Lanka Legends. While Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will lead the Indian and the West Indian team, Dilshan, Lee and Jonty Rhodes will captain the sides of their respective nations.

On the sidelines of the launch of the Road Safety World Series, former West Indies great, Brian Lara talked about various issues. Lara had some high praise for the Indian bowling attack, who he thought were near unplayable in the Caribbean.

He also shared his affection for the Indian pace attack and their back-ups to what the West Indies used to have in their heydays. Lara also lauded the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli with the way he has led the team in all facets of the game.

Kohli has scored 40 centuries (across formats) while leading his team and scored his career-best 254* in the last game against South Africa. The former West Indies captain also asserted that MS Dhoni had built a great platform as a leader for Kohli to carry the legacy forward.

As per the quotes in Sportstar, Lara said, “In terms of his performances, he leads by example. And I mean that in all facets of the game, and off the field too. He is coming off very well in the background of MS Dhoni, who laid the foundation and did things in a different way. So, I think Indian cricket, as we all know, is headed in the right direction.”
