Batting legend and the former West Indies captain, Brian Lara has refused to celebrate his birthday this year. The legend has turned 52 on May 2. He is currently in India as he is doing the commentary in the ongoing IPL 2021. He took the decision while keeping the current covid-19 pandemic situation in mind.
However, India have been in a tough situation amid the fight against the second wave of covid. And, it has been reporting over 300,000 positive cases daily with 2,000 deaths per day too.

Meanwhile, many players have already have come forward and contributed to various COVID relief funds which also included Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Nicholas Pooran, Sreevats Goswami, and others as well. However, Hardik Pandya, in a recent interview with the host broadcaster before the start of the MI-CSK game, has acknowledged the tough time that the country is going through and expressed his gratitude towards all the frontline workers who have come forward to help others as well.

Hardik Pandya further added that his family was talking about how to help out and they finally decided to donate 200 oxygen concentrators to the rural parts of India where the medical infrastructure needs more support compared to the cities as well.
“We all understand the difficulty that our country is undergoing at this period of time. Gratitude to all the medical staff, frontline workers and all the individuals who have come out and held their hands at such times to fight out the battle. Krunal, myself and my mother – basically our entire family, we were finding ways at trying to help out. We decided to donate 200 oxygen concentrators to the rural parts of India where I feel the medical infrastructure needs more support. We all understand it’s difficult, we want to show our gratitude, support and just want to tell everyone that they’re always there in our prayers,” said Hardik Pandya as quoted by CricBuzz.
