The veteran Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has always been known to be one of the most effective fielders of the Indian team in modern day cricket. On Friday, during the third ODI of the five-match series against Australia at the JSCA stadium in Ranchi, he pulled off another brilliant fielding display which resulted in a much-needed wicket of Glenn Maxwell for India as he got some help from the brilliant presence of mind of MS Dhoni.
Earlier on the game, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli decided to bowl first after winning the toss. While, India made no changes in the squad, the Australian skipper, Aaron Finch announced that they made one change as the injured Nathan Coulter-Nile made way for Jhye Richardson.
Earlier in the game, Australia had a decent start to the game as their openers, Finch (93) and Usman Khawaja (104) stitched 193 runs for the opening wicket. However, Jadeja pulled off a brilliant fielding display in the 42nd over bowled by Kuldeep Yadav when the Aussies were cruising at the score of 228/2 before that dismissal.
On the final ball of the over, Kuldeep bowled a delivery outside off to Shaun Marsh, who punched it towards cover. Jadeja stopped the ball at the covers and immediately threw it to Dhoni, who hit the stumps at one go off his return which resulted in Maxwell going back as Dhoni catches him short with a very quick flick on from the throw towards the stumps.
