England pacer Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a toe injury, dealing a blow to Sunrisers Hyderabad. The franchise had secured Carse at his base price of ₹1 crore during the auction, but the injury, which first surfaced during England’s ODI series against India, has now sidelined him from the entire tournament.

Carse’s troubles began when he missed the last two ODIs against India due to discomfort in his toe. Though he made a return for England’s Champions Trophy opener against Australia in Lahore, his pain was evident on the field. He subsequently skipped training ahead of England’s match against Afghanistan and was eventually ruled out of the tournament.
Reports suggest that his condition worsened after the Australia game, leading to his withdrawal from the IPL as well. To cover for Carse, Sunrisers Hyderabad have roped in South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder as his replacement. The 27-year-old has been signed at his base price of ₹75 lakh and is set to make his IPL debut.

He has accumulated 2,172 runs at an average of 27.15 and a strike rate of 132.92, with 12 half-centuries to his name.
