Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is locking horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the first innings, RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis managed to hit the bullseye as he found Wriddhiman Saha well short of his crease.

Earlier, GT skipper, Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first. Both the teams made one change in their respective XIs as for RCB, Siddharth Kaul replaced Mohammed Siraj, whereas, Lockie Ferguson came in for Alzarri Joseph in GT’s XI. Despite scoring 14 runs in the first over, GT had a shaky start as they lost Shubman Gill in the third over itself owing to a brilliant catch by Glenn Maxwell in the second innings.

Wriddiman Saha was playing at 31 off 22 balls and was looking good but a mix-up in the 9th over led to his dismissal. Harshal bowled a good length delivery outside off stump, and Hardik drove it to the left of cover and ran off, pausing briefly. Saha had to wait till the ball cleared the cover fielder. Faf du Plessis, on the other hand, wasted non time in collecting the ball and caught Saha off guard with a fantastic direct hit at the striker’s end. Saha was nowhere to be found in the frame.

Saha despite being out for 30 completed 300 runs in the tournament in just 9 games. He would be looking to carry his form in Qualifier 1.
