Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha received the No Objection Certificate from Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), which allowing him to move back to his home team Hyderabad for this Ranji Trophy season. Ojha played last two edition of this championship for Bengal, but recently he decided against it and expressed his eagerness to move back to his home team. The first round of Ranji Trophy 2017-18 has started today.

However, CAB president Sourav Ganguly was in no mood to allow him to go back, but Ojha received a nod just a day before. Left-arm spinner mentioned that it’s important for him to stay in Hyderabad due to family reasons.

CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya said after issuing an NOC “We had received a letter from Pragyan, where he requested for the NOC to play for Hyderabad. I discussed the matter internally with the President (Sourav Ganguly) and the association has considered sympathetically based on his request.”

The 31-year-old Ojha played 24 Test matches for India, where he grabbed 113 wickets. During that, he had a strong love tale with Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, where he plucked several wickets including his lone 10-fer in the farewell match of great Sachin Tendulkar at the very same venue. Interestingly, that match proved to be his last match as well.
