Subir Ganguly, joint secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has sent a letter to association’s President Sourav Ganguly, which states that if he will force him to ‘cooling off’ duties, the same pattern will be applied for former cricketer.

Former member of IPL governing council Subir has worked for over nine years on this post and he along with Treasurer Biswarup Dey formed an anti-Sourav Ganguly faction in the state’s cricket association.

Recently, Subir was informed to left the office after completing nine years as joint secretary in the office. However, after consulting his lawyer, he denied to leave as his term is still to be end.

Meanwhile, he was not invited in the all-powerful Working Committee meeting on Saturday at CAB’s office and they explained the reason behind it that Subir is no more a joint secretary.

Now, Subir sent a letter to Ganguly, where he wrote “If in the event your decision to disqualify me to further continue in the post of joint secretary, which is however denied by me is to be accepted, then as per recommendation of Justice Lodha Committee in its report, adopted by the Hon’Supreme Court, you are not entitled to continue, holding the post of president of CAB as the stipulation ‘Cooling Off’ period after three years in the report, operates against you. And you are bound to step down immediately, having completed continuous three-year period as office-bearer of CAB.”

However, when CAB President talks to PTI, he denied to add any comment on this issue. Ganguly said “I will not comment about what Subir Ganguly has said. All I know is that he has completed nine years as office bearer including four as treasurer and five as joint secretary. And the decision regarding him has been taken by Working Committee and not me.”
