As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, the Committee of Administrators [CoA] had sent in a request to review the applicants but CAC wrote a letter to the CoA members Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji on Friday expressing their inability saying they don’t have enough information regarding the controversy surrounding the women’s team after their semifinal exit from the 2018 ICC Women’s WorldT20 last month.

Veteran batter Mithali Raj had made an accusation on the then head coach Ramesh Powar of ignoring her during the tournament. However, Powar had alleged that Mithali changed her attitude when she was asked to vacate the opener’s slot. The issue resulted in a blew into a big controversy with allegations flying thick and high from both the parties.

However, T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana have backed Powar. Mithali wrote a scathing letter to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and GM Saba Karim, claiming was nothing but a humiliation for her during the WT20 and she was left in tears after being axed.

As per another report, Powar did acknowledge his tormented relationship with the senior batter but said the decision to drop her from the semi-final fixture against England had nothing to do with their personal equation.

According to the PTI report, a BCCI official said, “He [Powar] maintained that it was due to poor strike rate that she was dropped against England and also because the team management wanted to maintain a winning combination.”
