Cameron Green produced one of the standout fielding moments of IPL 2026 as Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder pulled off a sensational catch to dismiss Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, April 17. The effort also ensured Virat Kohli’s record for the most T20 centuries at a single venue stayed intact for another day.

The dismissal came on the final ball of the 17th over. Vaibhav Arora bowled a short and wide delivery that was there to be hit, and Gill went after it with an ambitious slash. He ended up slicing the ball high toward deep backward point, where Cameron Green judged it to perfection. Sprinting in and launching himself forward, he completed a brilliant diving catch just centimetres above the turf.

Gill’s innings ended at a classy 86 off 50 balls, an effort that featured eight fours and four sixes. His wicket briefly raised KKR’s hopes, with GT still needing 21 runs from the final three overs at 158/4. But Gujarat held their nerve, as Glenn Phillips, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan calmly finished the chase without much trouble.

Shubman Gill fell just 14 runs short of what would have been a memorable century. Had he reached three figures, it would have been his fifth hundred at the Narendra Modi Stadium, taking him past Kohli’s mark of four T20 centuries at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He would also have moved into a rare club, with only Chris Gayle having scored five T20 hundreds at a single venue, at Mirpur.

For Cameron Green, though, it was a night that underlined his value in every department. Earlier in the match, he top-scored for KKR with 79 off 55 balls when the rest of the batting order struggled to get going. While he could not fully finish the innings with a flourish, his gritty effort showed the kind of composure KKR have often missed with the bat.
