Yuzavendra Chahal was the hero behind India’s dominant show in Cuttack T20I against Sri Lanka. He took a four-fer to ensure a 93-run win for India. In the process, he became the leading wicket-taker of 2017 in T20Is.

Before the match, Rashid Khan and Kesrick Williams were leading this chart with 17 wickets to their name, but this effort by Chahal took him over both of them. Now he is sitting firmly on top with 19 wickets and expected to end the year at this very position.

Upul Tharanga, Asela Gunaratne, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera are his victim in the match as he wrecked Lanka’s middle order to 62/6.

With his figures of 4/23, he equaled R Ashwin’s record for most 4+ wickets for India in T20I, both have done this twice. Earlier in 2017, Chahal recorded sensation figures of 6/25 against England in Bengaluru.
