Indian bowling line-up was at its lowest point during the opening One-Day International against New Zealand in Mumbai. Though, leaving the ghosts of that match behind, Indian bowling department pulled the socks up and showed their metal in the field.
Bhuvi and Bumrah gave India an excellent start before spinners came out after a rare blip. Yuzavendra Chahal was the wrecker in chief as he picked two wickets in two balls. Colin de Grandhomme was in good nick and was looking to take his team to a fighting total. Though, Chahal had some other ideas as he outsmarted Kiwi all-rounder with some rank turners.
Chahal came to bowl 44th over and bowled a wide delivery, which Grandhomme chased and gave a simple catch to Bumrah. On the very next ball, Adam Milne went for a golden duck after witnessing an umpire’s call on his review request. Thus, the leggie got two in two before failing to convert it into a hat-trick against Tim Southee.
So far, Chahal’s spell reads 8-1-36-2 while visitors are struggling to pile runs on the board as they have 203/8 after 47 overs.
