JioStar, the official broadcast and digital partner for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026, has set the tone for the tournament by unveiling a powerful new promotional film that signals a fresh, emotional chapter for Indian cricket. The campaign stands out not just for its cinematic appeal, but for the message it delivers — a symbolic handover of belief from one set of world champions to another.

In a first-of-its-kind creative move, India’s reigning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup winners — Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma — take centre stage in the film, rallying the nation behind the men’s team. The concept represents a striking role reversal, with the women who recently brought global glory to India now seen motivating the men as they prepare to defend their T20 World Cup title on home soil.

The film opens with Jemimah Rodrigues reflecting on the unforgettable night when India lifted the Women’s World Cup, a moment that united the country in celebration. From there, the narrative pivots toward the men’s T20 World Cup journey, with Jemimah, Deepti, and Shafali urging the nation to reset and believe once again. Their message is simple but powerful — India already has one World Cup at home and is determined not to let the other slip away.

Visually, the film bridges two historic ICC World Cup triumphs across formats and genders. Set against a gripping background score and rich cinematic imagery, it portrays one group of champions cheering on another, capturing the shared pride, responsibility, and hunger that runs through Indian cricket.

Conceptualised by the JioStar Creative Team, the campaign blends the emotional highs of the women’s World Cup victory with the anticipation surrounding the men’s T20 World Cup defence. India enters the 2026 tournament as the top-ranked T20I team in the world, boasting the No. 1-ranked batter and bowler. They also have the chance to make history by becoming the first host nation to successfully defend the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title and the first team to win it three times.

Speaking about the film, Siddharth Sharma, Head of Sports Content at JioStar, explained the vision behind it. He said it was fitting for the reigning women’s world champions to lead the charge as India’s men aim to become back-to-back world champions, adding that the idea was to show “champions cheering champions” as the nation rallies behind Team India.
