KKR successfully restricted PBKS within 123 for 9 in 20 overs which KKR chased down with ease in 16.4 overs as well and with this win, they have ended their 4-match losing streak in IPL 2021. Meanwhile, the defeat was Punjab’s fourth in 6 matches as well and pushed them down to 6th in the points table too, below KKR.

While talking about their performance after the game, Chris Jordan, who smashed 30 runs off 18 balls against KKR, said that PBKS require to “keep doing the good things” in order to return to the winning zone in the competition.

“The way forward is to keep doing the good things that we have been doing. We’ve been having very good conversations as a group, we are very close to putting together the perfect game. At some point in the tournament everyone has done a decent job with the ball and bat. It’s just a matter of bringing that entire performance together and you should hopefully see us start to climb up the table. The mood and everything in the camp at the minute is very upbeat. We are looking forward to play out next 3 games here in Ahmedabad,” Chris Jordan said to the reporters.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings will have to work on their loopholes to get back in the winning zone when they will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 30 as well.

After their loss, PBKS captain KL Rahul said: “It is never nice to be on the losing side. Don’t know what to say. We should have adapted better. We could have applied lot more with the bat. Expect the boys to be smarter. Some soft dismissals have cost us the game. It was a bit two paced. Kept a little up down. Was tough to assess what are the high risk shots here. It is expected of good teams to adapt quicker. We need to keep our heads higher and keep trying. Bishnoi’s catch was stunning. Especially when you have a coach like Jonty Rhodes, he puts us to tough tests and sees how every boy reacts. The training rubs on during match situations. Hopefully, we can keep building and get better.”
